Portico Logistics is a trusted logistics partner providing cost-effective, compliant, and worldwide transport solutions. We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Class 2 Driver (Category C) Apprentice.

This apprenticeship is ideal for someone who is eager to develop their driving career while gaining valuable hands-on experience within a fast-paced logistics environment. Throughout the programme, you will receive support and training to build your skills, knowledge, and confidence as a professional driver.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out multi-drop deliveries using a tail lift vehicle, with a mix of local and longer-distance routes across the UK.

  • Carry out multi drop deliveries safely and efficiently.
  • Operate tail lift and pump truck equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed on time while providing excellent customer service.
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and accurately report any defects.
  • Secure loads correctly and comply with all transport and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a professional and positive approach when representing Portico Logistics.

  • Comfortable carrying out manual handling duties.

    Essential Requirements

  • Aged 21 years or over.
  • Apprentices must hold a valid UK driving licence (at least Cat B i.e. car licence) in order to access the apprenticeship and must be 21 years old by the time they gain their provisional vocational licence.
  • Good understanding of UK road networks.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to learning and professional development.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
  • Maths and English at Grade C or above, or relevant functional skills.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will develop skills in:

  • Safe and efficient vehicle operation.
  • Multi drop delivery planning and execution.
  • Transport compliance and road safety regulations.
  • Load security and manual handling techniques.
  • Customer service and professional communication.
  • Vehicle inspections and defect reporting procedures.
  • Time management and route planning.
